The right choice for you

International Stones only buy stone directly from the source, they buy based on what is selling in the market and therefore they stock only what there is a demand for. Not having too much stock that doesn’t sell means International Stones are competitively priced whilst maintaining the standards and quality of bigger brands.

Granite or Quartz?

Your decision can be influenced by aesthetics, as both options possess strong inherent qualities that make them ideal for kitchen or bathroom surfaces. Granite is a natural stone with distinctive characteristics, while quartz is a man-made material that generally exhibits a more consistent appearance. However, advancements in quartz composite manufacturing technology now allow for the replication of marble’s look, along with the added benefits of superior scratch and stain resistance compared to genuine marble. Both granite and quartz are suitable for direct contact with food and offer resistance to stains, impacts, and scratches. Nonetheless, it’s worth noting that composite quartz materials with a high resin content can be more susceptible to scratching when compared to granite. Granite also outperforms quartz in terms of heat resistance, as quartz can be damaged by hot saucepans, necessitating the use of trivets. Additionally, granite is resistant to UV rays.Â
